The Four-Seven
Privacy notice
What the newsletter site and emails of The Four-Seven collect, why, and the choices you have.
Last updated October 4, 2026
This notice covers the newsletter site at newsletter.thefourseven.org and the emails we send from it. It is run by The Four-Seven Inc. ("The Four-Seven", "we"), a nonprofit in Ohio. Our main website, www.thefourseven.org, has its own privacy policy.
In short: we collect only what we need to send you the newsletter and to run this site. We don't sell or rent anyone's information, and we don't use advertising trackers.
What we collect
- When you subscribe: your email address and, if you give them, your name and how you're connected to the ministry. We record when and how you agreed to receive email and when you confirmed your address.
- Your email choices: the topics you pick and whether you unsubscribe.
- When we email you: our email provider tells us whether a message was delivered, bounced or marked as spam. It may also report when an email is opened or a link in it is clicked. We use this to fix delivery problems and see which stories are useful.
- Hope Letters and other messages you send us through a form: what you write and the name you sign with. Our staff read every message. Please don't include anything you wouldn't want our team to read.
- Polls, quizzes and other activities: your answers. They are stored without your name or email address.
- Visits to this site: the pages you view, the buttons you press, the site that sent you here, the type of device (phone, tablet or computer) and any campaign tags in the link. We do not store IP addresses. To count visitors, we use a code made from your connection details that changes every day, so we can't recognize you from one day to the next. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we count the page view without making that code.
- Donations: gifts are made on our donation partner's secure pages, not on this site. We receive the amount and which link the gift came from, never your card or bank details.
How we use it
- To send the newsletter, event updates and replies you asked for.
- To read Hope Letters, prayer requests and messages and act on them in our ministry.
- To learn which stories and pages are helpful and improve them.
- To keep the site secure and stop abuse (for example, limiting repeated form submissions).
- To meet legal obligations.
Cookies and your browser's storage
Public pages on this site don't set cookies. Your browser keeps a few small settings on your own device (for example, that you closed an announcement, your place in an activity, or the site's color); they are not sent to us. Staff who sign in to manage the site use secure sign-in cookies.
Videos come from YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode and only load when you press play. After that, YouTube's privacy policy applies.
Who we share it with
We never sell or rent personal information. We share it only with companies that run this service for us, under their own privacy and security terms:
- Vercel: hosts the site.
- Supabase: stores the database.
- Resend: delivers our emails.
- Neon CRM: processes donations.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect someone's safety.
How long we keep it
- Subscribers: while you're subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep your email address and the fact that you left, only so we never email you again by mistake. Ask us and we'll erase it completely.
- Visit statistics: about 13 months, then deleted automatically.
- Hope Letters and messages: until our staff archive or delete them.
- Activity answers: kept to show results, without names or email addresses.
Your choices
- Every email has an Unsubscribe link and an Email preferences link.
- You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we hold about you. Write to us using the details below and we'll answer within 30 days.
Hope Letters
- Our team reads every letter before it goes anywhere. We may shorten a letter, ask you to change it, or decide not to pass it on.
- A letter carries only the name you sign it with. We don't add your email address or anything else about you.
- If a letter goes into a prison, jail or reentry program, that institution's mail rules apply, and its staff may read it.
- Please leave out last names, addresses, phone numbers, case details and anything about a crime.
Stories and photos
- We publish the name, story or photo of a participant, family member or volunteer only with that person's permission. For anyone under 18, we ask a parent or guardian.
- We may change names or details to protect someone's privacy or safety.
- If you appear on this site and want something removed, contact us and we'll take it down.
Children
This site isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
How we protect it
Connections to this site are encrypted. Only staff who need it can see personal information, each with their own account and role; administrators use two-step verification, and changes are logged. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep yours safe and will tell you if a breach affects you, as the law requires.
Changes
If we change this notice, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll tell subscribers by email.
