The Four-Seven
Accessibility
How The Four-Seven makes its newsletter site usable for everyone, and how to tell us about a barrier.
Last updated October 4, 2026
We want everyone to be able to read the newsletter, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification or captions. Our goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we do
- Pages are checked with automated accessibility tests whenever the site changes.
- Every page works with a keyboard and has a "skip to content" link.
- Text and buttons meet contrast standards; the site's colors can't be changed to an unreadable combination.
- Photos need a written description before they can be published.
- Animations are reduced for people who set their device to reduce motion.
- Every email has a "View in browser" link and a plain-text version.
Known limitations
- The printable PDF edition is a design file and may not read well with a screen reader. The same content is on this site.
- Captions on embedded videos depend on the video's creator.
Tell us about a barrier
If something on this site is hard to use, please tell us what page and what happened. We'll work to fix it and, in the meantime, get you the information another way.
